This Philadelphia side chair is a copy of a pair I had in the shop for minor repairs. I had the originals there during the time I made this one and was therefore able to make my chair virtually identical to the old ones. The only liberty I took in copying them was to make the balls of the ball & claw feet slightly less squashed. This flattening of the ball is typical of Philadelphia pieces but I felt it was a little overdone in this case. My ball is about a 1/4" higher than the old ones. The wood is mahogany.
